Lowell High School 

Founded in 1856 in San Francisco, Lowell High School is the oldest public high school west of the Mississippi. It is ranked as one of the highest performing public high schools in California, and has been recognized 4 times as a National Blue Ribbon School, 8 times as a California Distinguished School, and one time as a Gold Ribbon School. Lowell has been consistently ranked #1 in the Western Region for the number of Advanced Placement Exams given.

Admission to Lowell is competitive and merit-based, serving students from throughout the city who demonstrate academic excellence and are motivated to pursue a rigorous college preparatory program. In addition, Lowell offers 100 active clubs and service organizations and a comprehensive athletic program, with 32 teams playing 27 sports. Our elective program boasts the largest Visual and Performing Arts Department in the city and a World Language Department of eight languages. All students have equal access to all classes, as well as academic and personal support through its Wellness, Peer Resources and CSF Tutoring Programs.

The curriculum is sequential to ensure high academic achievement, aligned with common core curriculum standards, graduation requirements, and A-G subject requirements for CSU/UC Admissions. Chinese Immersion School

Students at the Chinese Immersion School at De Avila dual language immersion program have the unique opportunity to learn Cantonese and English in grades K-5. Our community strives to provide the students with a caring and nurturing environment with a strong focus on the whole child, high achievement and academic excellence. Our mission is to prepare our students with multilingual skills to become caring and globally responsible citizens in the 21st century.

The Mission Preparatory School

The Mission Preparatory School equips kindergarten to eighth grade students with the knowledge, skills, and strength of character needed to succeed in college and serve as leaders in their communities.

The Mission Preparatory School opened in august 2011 with 50 kindergarten students. Each subsequent year, we will enroll a new cohort of 50 kindergarteners. We will work to ensure The School merits charter renewal and continue expanding to serve grades kindergarten through eight. At full capacity, Mission prep will serve a maximum of 450 students in grades k-8.

Sunset Elementary School

Sunset School is a diverse community of engaged and joyful learners. Peabody Elementary School

George Peabody is a successful, safe, and small elementary school with a family feel located in San Francisco’s Inner Richmond neighborhood. Our talented and experienced staff provides each student with meaningful learning experiences through purposeful instruction and a well-articulated curriculum. We work to ensure that all students learn the skills and knowledge needed to build the foundation to lead successful lives and become productive citizens. We also strive to ensure that every student leaves George Peabody with a positive elementary school experience full of fond memories, close friendships, a love of learning, and a curiosity of the world beyond San Francisco.

We provide many unique learning opportunities to educate the whole child. These include our social emotional learning curriculum Kimochis, PeabodyOutside (based on Education Outside program), PeabodyWorks (a physical and character education program inspired by our partnership with Playworks) and a well-articulated arts curriculum. Additionally, our students can participate in a variety of afterschool programs run by our PTA.  

Our community is made stronger through monthly community-building events organized by our PTA and spirit days planned by the Student Council. Fall 2020 Virtual ToursTours will be offered virtually during the 2020/21 enrollment season. During the week of November 2nd, a short video about George Peabody ES (standard for all SFUSD schools) will be released. On the 9th of November, George Peabody will also host two webinars that will be recorded for those unable to zoom in. The webinar will involve a short presentation and an opportunity for participants to ask questions. Webinar times will be released by the Educational Placement Center and added below once these times have been finalized.

Lilienthal (claire) Elementary School

Claire Lilienthal school is committed to working together as a community. Students, families, and staff work in partnership toward the goal of excellence, for all and continue to improve the instructional program. Lilienthal offers a comprehensive curriculum based on the California Content and Performance Standards. We believe our continued success is largely due to high expectations for all of our students.

We are firmly committed to Claire Lilienthal’s tradition of providing equal access to a high quality education for students from every neighborhood and every cultural background. In addition to our General Education classes, we also offer the only Korean Immersion program in the city as well as a successful Special Education Inclusion Program.
