This is the first time in my life that I have read a book of about two hundred pages in a month and a half. Reading a little bit every day, the characters in the novel seemed so real and alive that after finishing it, I felt like saying goodbye to my very close relatives! I meet them again and again!
None of the characters in this historical novel, which is built on epic enormity, has become very central.

Many famous historical characters have come to life in different branches through two fictional characters; Bharat and Bhumisuta. As the story spread from the inner court of the royal family of Tripura, the only independent state of undivided Bengal at that time, it spread to the Tagore family and various states of the then mainland India. Kadambari Devi, the inspiration for Rabindranath’s early youth to write poetry, his presence, arrival and departure from the world in a haughty manner is very real in the novel. Prothom Alo gives the opportunity to see a person, lover, poet, husband, father, zamindar, writer and Gurudev Rabindranath very closely. Between the period of the new century (183-1906) a new trend of science consciousness, religious devotion, patriotism, patriotism, political role, Congress, partition of Bengal, education, culture has emerged in the novel.

Dr. The science consciousness of Mahendralal Sarkar, the story of Naren Dutt, the eldest son of the Dutt family, becoming Swami Vivekananda, his religious devotion, Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, the famous personality of Bangla Natyamancha Girish Ghosh, Binodini, Amarendra, Vivekananda’s story , Sunil Gangopadhyay painted a vivid picture of the Swadeshi movement.

Divided into two parts, the first volume of Prothom Alo is dedicated to Rabindranath’s inspiration Kadambari Devi, and the second volume is dedicated to Rabindranath. Sunil seems to be the first person after Rabindranath to dedicate a book to Kadambari.

Akhtaruzzaman Elias. As the name suggests, he is one of the underrated writers of Bengali literature. The name is not very well known to the public. He has written very few stories and novels throughout his life, but all of them are masterpieces. ‘Khoyabnama’ is the second and last novel of Akhtaruzzaman Elias. I will have some spoilers in this review, but those who haven’t read the book yet won’t have much of a problem.

Many of us are familiar with the term ‘khoyabnama’ or ‘khabnama’, which means the rules for interpreting dreams. Although the setting of this novel is about a Khoyabnama book and Khoyab commentator, various good and bad stories of the village have come up. British rule was about to end. A bill in a remote area of Bangladesh, called Katlahar Bill. Two villages at the two ends of the bill, Girirdanga and Nijgirirdanga.

In the village there are peasant groups and fishermen groups, Muslim groups and Hindu groups. In these groups there was a da-kumra relationship. Again, there were two groups of Muslims, the Sunnis and the Ahl al-Hadith, among whom there was a doctrinal conflict. The Hindus also had clan conflicts among themselves. Munshi Baitullah Shah was shot dead by a sepoy of the East India Company a long time ago.

Since then, people on both sides of the Katlahar Bill have come to know that Munshi’s incorporeal spirit ruled the Bill with a seat in a palm tree north of the Bill. At one time the ownership of the bill passed into the hands of the zamindar. Various injustices were started on the fishermen, and various movements started in its context. On the other side, Cherag Ali Fakir was singing along with Sunsir Sholok and explaining his dreams.

Cherag Ali Fakir married his only granddaughter Kulsum to the father of widow Tamiz. Meanwhile, Cherag Ali Fakir suddenly disappeared. Everyone said he was dead. After getting Chirag Ali’s company, Tamiz’s father started having strange dreams. In the middle of the night, while sleeping, Munshi went in search of the pomegranate north of the bill, and came back asleep. Seeing Tamiz, the dream of land, the dream of harvest, and the dream of love of Fuljan.

But that dream is not a dream of sleeping, it is a dream of waking up. Tamiz’s father’s dream is that he will meet Munsir one day. The dream of the leader of the fishermen Kalam Majhi and his son Tahsen is to take control over the fishermen. Zamindar Sharafat Mandal dreamed of taking control of the farmers. And the politics of the Muslim League led by Abdur Quader, the youngest son of Mandal, Pakistan will win by dreaming, Muslim rule will be established.

Fuljan’s ex-husband Keramat Ali’s dream is to get the book of Khoyabnama left by Cherag Ali. Vaikuntha Giri, the heir of the Giri dynasty, dreams of returning to Bhabani Pathak, which was lost a long time ago, and peace will be restored in the village. The story of the novel begins in such a context of society. The beginning of the novel is basically a little different, meaning you have to get a little faster to catch the sequence of events first. Such novels are my personal favorite. Throws the reader into a maze from the beginning. Last but not least, the headline made you read this article. But let me tell you – it was the last thing you wanted to do.

Countryside. Rainy days and nights. Unusual phenomena. If a story starts with these, then there is an atmosphere of fear from the beginning. When murders and ghosts are associated with the wetness of the rain, the obsession of fear gains a different dimension. The same thing happened in Jabed Rasin’s Tamisra.

Shubhpur. A quiet remote village. In that village, some shocking events started suddenly. An unusual murder took place. There was no clue as to who or what killed a young man in the village in a horrible way. Naturally, the people of Shubhpur felt terrible discomfort.

The daughter of an influential man in the village fell strangely ill. Dr. Badi Kabiraj – Someone found a way out of this situation. The strange symptoms of the sixteen-year-old girl’s illness continued to increase day by day. When the girl did not recover from any of the common rules, a young man named Irfan started treating the girl outside the conventional rules. That is the magic of both the doctor and the jinn.

A mysterious man disappeared from Shubhpur village. Lusting for some unknown power, he is running in the dark alleys. The thirst for his power is growing every moment. If he succeeds in the end, the fate of the whole world will change.

One murder after another, they are also unexplained. Interested in the investigation, DB Inspector Sohail Arman rushed to Shubhpur village. But the mystery seems to remain elusive. Some people who have lived in the real world and met in the supernatural world are looking for answers to some questions. Where DB Inspector Sohail wants to explain them with arguments, Irfan finds the solution in absentia.

The two worlds seem to run in parallel throughout the novel. Although Jabed Rasin is new to the world of writing, he has chosen a great plot for Tamisra. You have come a long way with this wide plot. There were a number of small mistakes, and that’s normal. One of the mistakes is very obvious. That is, throughout the book I noticed the author’s strong reluctance to use exclamation marks in appropriate places.

He used beards instead of exclamation marks in the intended places. Though the plot of Tamisra is very wide, unnecessary scenes have been introduced in one or two places. For example, Irfan started living in the house of the chairman, as the author had said once before. But towards the end of the book, he repeats the matter again, as if it had not been mentioned before.

The most influential factor in making Tamisra a horror thriller is the creation of a ghostly environment. Throughout the story, ghostly and mysterious events take place on a rainy night or evening. In the rural context of Bangladesh, rainfall is a different matter. And with that, if the fear of another world can be tied in one frame, then its appeal becomes completely different and catches the reader.

The author has introduced Munshiana in creating an atmosphere of fear. But in the end, the description of supernatural things seemed a bit confusing. The author’s description of exorcism could have been more impressive in my opinion. The thing that happens quite easily, there is a little hesitation in it.

The flow of events in the beginning and middle of Tamisra, towards the end, seems to increase its speed suddenly. It seems that the climax has been pulled in a hurry. It can also be used to predict sequels. Good luck to writer Jabed Rasin. I look forward to his next job. Hopefully, his writing will gradually improve.

If you don’t appreciate the cover, a lot of this review will remain. I felt a ghostly fascination looking at the cover. Thanks also to the cover artist. If you want to get acquainted with the writings of Jabed Rasin, you can start Tamisra.
