D&D Xanathar’s Guide to Everything Book Review
Arguments, a part of our daily routine. From sleeping to waking up, from the breakfast table to the table of politics and the stage of debate, there is nothing without argument. Well, how many arguments do we make in a day. What is all the logic !? Is it correct to argue! This book is a ‘grasshopper in the trap of logic’ with the confusion of this argument and the confusion of the argument
A rich man parked his car in the middle of a small street, a pedestrian told him. “Brother, park the car on the side of the road.” On hearing this, the rich man said, “You are poor, you don’t want to buy a car. Do you have your own car? How do you know where to park your car?” The driver’s argument here is that you don’t have a car, how do you know where to put the car. It’s called (AD-HOMINEM or irrelevant person attack) There’s no need for a rich man or a car to figure out where to put the car here, right?
In 2020, when ‘Kovid-19’ began to spread explicitly. Suppose at that time a man said, “I had a corona. I got better by eating grass. So playing grass is better than corona.” Here it seems that the word is really logic! But is his logic correct here? We all know that 80% of corona patients get better at home without treatment. And during that corona, the man not only ate grass but also ate a lot. So even if it sounds like listening to him, it is wrong as an argument. It is called ‘(POST HOC 🙂 happened later, it means it happened because of the previous one’.
Another interesting argument is that once a statistic in New York showed that the number of murders/murders increases at the same time of the year when people eat more ice cream “then does ice cream encourage murder/murder?! You will find the error of this funny argument only after reading this funny book.
And let’s end with an interesting argument that almost all of us make. One famous superstar said, “Bathing with kerosene oil keeps the skin beautiful.” We started sharing it because a famous star like ABC said it was true. But if you notice a little, you will understand that he is an acting star but he has given medical advice. Now if a doctor does the work of a celebrity, how reliable is it !? Therefore, it is a mistake to assume that a famous person is right when he says something (Appeal to questionable authority).
The book tells the story of 24 such (logical fallacy) arguments, along with all the funny examples. Feel bad –
All in all the book paper, cover all the quality is good. To say it is wrong is to change the word in place and to make a mistake in a small word in one place. Both are typing mistakes. Chamak Hasan Bhai’s writing is always good and he teaches stories. The same thing happened in this book. I personally find logic in everything people who love reasoning. For those who argue or any general reading, the book will teach all the great logic errors along with the fun of the story. You can read the book with a good time to learn something great.
